Men armed with AK-47s shot and killed six family members on Saturday morning at Itshekane in Muden near Greytown, KwaZulu-Natal. The motive of the shootings is still unknown. It is reported that this incident took place around 3 am and lasted about 20 minutes.
Community safety MEC Mchunu visited the family on Saturday. He said that according to the police and family members, five men armed with AK-47s and small guns came and killed all males they found. Only one man managed to escape.
It is said that there are nine houses in the home that was attacked. The attackers entered every house, illuminated their victims with a cellphone light and shot them if they were male. They left all females, including a 90 year old granny.
